  i realize that the info about the stroke of gb member jaracz did get out.

  but is it not amazing how any further info seems to be locked down.

  there are many with some connections, but there seems to be no info being allowed to get out about his condition.

  Going to a meeting was like visiting the gorilla exhibit at the zoo, except you had to be in the cage.

  There were several Theocratic Nit Picking School graduates and many more that were studying the book.

  this was the same man at different times in his life yet he changed his name because he completely changed his ideals and goals too.

  both were extremely zealous, both thought they were doing gods work, both thought they were working for the greater good.. acts 8:3 (new international version)3but saul began to destroy the church.

  going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.. soul thought gods work was to destroy the christians but paul.... acts 20: 19i served the lord with great humility and with tears, although i was severely tested by the plots of the jews.

  This was the same man at different times in his life yet he changed his name because he completely changed his ideals and Goals too. but which one is the better one?

  Paul did not change his life or name, I believe Jesus did that for him. No matter how sincere Saul was , he was following men , not GOD. After his conversion he was changed in who he followed.

  Many years after I had ceased to follow men, I too have come to know Jesus. It has changed my life , not through efforts like I used to will myself to do when with the JW's , but by the Holy Spirit being poured out on me by my Heavenly Father & HIS Son Jesus Christ.My ideals have not been changed , I am now able to achieve them, because I have GOD's help. My goals are changed in that material things are now of less importance to me.I'm a much nicer person.

  To answer your question, I consider Paul my spiritual brother.

  i have been lurking on here for some time and i finally decided to join the fray.

  i am 25 years old and was raised in the society.

  fortunately when i was 8, my father left the organization and this allowed me to see the wrold from both angles, the jw (mom) and not (dad).. at first, i was strongly on the side of the witnesses and i even allowed myself to be convinced that getting baptised at 11 was a good idea.

  Welcome! I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. How wonderful though to have a daughter. I have wordly girls of my own, about your age and your story brings back memories of them & their friends during their teen years.

  it's also called souse.. there was a show on radio this morning about farm life, and a caller told how it's done.. my mother used to make a big container for xmas.. i'm really waxing nostalgic here.. sylvia.

  I'm still waiting for password or ninja to tell us about haggis! or any other local foods that would fit this thread.

  I remember something else my mom would eat, shad roe. My dad would always take us out to dinner during the shad run . I eat eggs , I eat fish, but could never bring myself to eat fishy eggs.

  No, the thread can't die yet. We haven't heard from all our friends across the sea. The Scots haven't weighed in with their disgusting foods yet.

  Meanwhile ,how about liverwurst? That's what I crave from time to time. I only let myself have it once a year. I like it with onions, swiss cheese , mustard & rye bread.Yum!
